Undergraduate Program Home
Thank you for your interest in the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business.
The Program
The Undergraduate Program at the David Eccles School of Business prides itself on five core strengths.
First, students here learn from our award-winning research faculty. Professors at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business aren't just teaching from a textbook. Our professors are actively engaged in the search for new business knowledge that will solve real-world problems and yield the next generation of teaching materials.
Second, our students directly apply their knowledge while still in school. We offer dozens of renowned experiential learning opportunities, including the University Venture Fund, the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, the Utah Real Estate Challenge, the Lassonde Entrepreneur Center, and, new for Fall 2010, the Student Consulting Initiative.
Third, our students are immersed in a culture that seeks to bring out innovative and entrepreneurial spirit. Most recently the School of Business unveiled The Foundry, which gives students a formal opportunity to partner with civic-minded individuals in the start-up phase of a business. The broader University of Utah community shares this spirit of innovation, and was recently ranked first in the nation for creating new startup companies from faculty-research-based innovations.
Fourth, our students benefit from our Business Career Services center and our strong relationships with local and national firms in finance, marketing, venture capital, accounting, and information systems. Whatever your interests, we've got the network to help you find the right opportunities. And we begin working to connect students with opportunity during freshman and sophomore year, so our students have professional experience prior to graduation.
Fifth, our students have great weekends! Whether they are skiing or boarding in Park City, rock climbing in Little Cottonwood Canyon, mountain biking on the Wasatch Crest Trail, or taking a weekend trek to one of the five National Parks in Southern Utah, life is good here in the home of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
