Advising
Current High School Students
Students interested in pursuing a degree from the David Eccles School of Business must first apply to and be admitted to the University of Utah. Students should indicate "Business" for proposed academic major (major field of study).
Once admitted to the University of Utah, students who have indicated Business as their academic major will begin as Pre-Business student. During the semester a student is completing the last of the six Pre-Business courses, the student is encouraged to apply for Upper Division status.
Lower Division University of Utah or Transfer Students
The David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah recently announced significant changes to its undergraduate curriculum, which are designed to streamline the School's course requirements, increase its interdisciplinary focus, and provide a path to greater business breadth.
- We have compiled some frequently asked questions for current Pre-Business, Intermediate Business, and Business Upper Division students. This will help you understand how the change might affect you.
- Review the 2011-2012 Degree Checklist. It will guide you through the new curriculum, including which courses to take as a Pre-Business student and for admission to Business Upper Division status.
- The David Eccles School of Business wants to address any concerns you might have. Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor to address any concerns you might have and review your progress toward a degree. Set up your appointment by calling 801-581-7853.
Honors Business
Students seeking an Honors Business degree must be accepted into the University Honors College and have completed or intend to complete all of the required courses. Apply for the Honors Business degree a full year ahead of intended graduation. For example, if you intend to graduate in Spring 2012, be sure to apply by Spring 2011.

Business Minor
Business minors are 18-credit-hour programs open to students throughout the University of Utah that teaches the concepts instrumental to business. Apply by completing the online Business Minor Application or contact the Business Undergraduate Advising Office at (801) 581-7853.
