Student Consulting Initiative

The Student Consulting Initiative is open to full-time MBA students and undergraduates who have completed intermediate business classes and Finance 3040; see FAQ for additional information.
The Student Consulting Initiative will bring together five top undergraduate business students and five top full-time MBA students to consult for local businesses. The goals of the Student Consulting Initiative are to provide a meaningful business experience for our top students and to offer small to midsize local businesses useful advice from an excellent group of students guided by experienced business professionals. You will have the following opportunities:
- Gain real-world management consulting experience
- Be part of a team of 10 highly motivated business students
- Interact with and learn from experienced professionals
- Get course credit and get paid
- Help build an exciting new program at the U
The program will run for the full academic year. The first portion of the program, from the beginning of fall semester through the end of September, will consist of a boot camp to develop basic consulting and research skills. We will work on consulting projects with businesses from October through May. We expect teams to produce high quality, professional reports. Participants are expected to commit at least 15 hours a week to the initiative.
