Alumni
An Open Letter to Alumni of the Professional MBA Program
Dear Professional MBA Alumni,
Over the last few years there have been new and exciting changes to the Professional MBA (PMBA) program and the University of Utah. In 2011 the PMBA program was ranked by US News and World Report as the #1 part-time program in Utah, and #45 in the US. Your accomplishments are largely responsible for the ever-growing reputation of the University of Utah’s PMBA program.
In regards to its growing reputation, the University of Utah is now part of the Pac-12 Conference. This is a great fit on so many levels and more closely aligns us academically with our peer schools such as Arizona State, Stanford, UC Berkley, UCLA, and USC.
The PMBA program is now under the umbrella of Executive Education with a staff dedicated solely to the program and its students. Recruiting, admissions, advising, and alumni relations are now in one office.
The curriculum has also been revised and streamlined. Based on your feedback, Friday/Saturday classes have been eliminated and core courses are scheduled on the same nights of the week. We are working to ensure that our students continue to maintain a strong work/life balance by allowing them to only attend classes two nights a week.
Since Fall Semester 2009, students enrolling in the PMBA program have paid a fixed tuition price for the two-year program. Tuition and fees are paid on a per-credit hour basis, and will not increase over the two years as long as the program is completed in 24 months.
We are striving to build our relationship with you, the alumni, to better utilize the valuable network of your PMBA program. We recently completed our second annual PMBA Golf Tournament and Reunion Dinner. The tournament was full, with over 80 golfers and 140 dinner guests. It was great to have alumni and current students together. We look forward to hosting this event for years to come.
We ask that you continue to remain involved with the school and program. First and foremost, we would like to share our PMBA alumni success stories with potential prospects. We would like to feature various alumni on our website and share how the PMBA program has impacted both their personal and professional lives. We would like to know the following:
- Why did you choose the PMBA program?
- How has the PMBA program impacted your career?
- How has the PMBA program changed your views, both personally and professionally?
If you have a story that you would like to share with us please submit your story through the Share Your Success Stories form. We also appreciate your continued support by referring your family, friends, and coworkers to the PMBA program.
We appreciate your support and encourage you to enhance your connection with the PMBA program and the David Eccles School of Business.
Sincerely,
Brad Vierig
