MSIS Students Restore Computers for Under-Privileged Utah Families
The incoming Fall 2011 class of MSIS students had the opportunity to help a community computer non-profit organization, The Electoregeneration Society, meet their mission to bridge the digital divide. Volunteers assisted with sorting, organizing, and reformatting donated computers. The computers will now be placed with low-income families or other non-profit organizations. Volunteers also had the opportunity to assist in dismantling machines which have outlived their useful lives. Using available tools, volunteers took part in stripping devices down to their component parts for recycling.
