The American Institute of CPAs has announced the winners of the 2014 Elijah Watt Sells Award, and we are pleased to inform you that a David Eccles School of Business graduate, Corrine Sudbury, is on the list.

Out of the 91,384 people who took the Uniform CPA Exam in 2014, only 60 qualified for the award—that’s less than 1 for every 1,500 people who took the exam.

Established in 1923 by the by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the Elijah Watt Sells Award was established for the purpose of recognizing outstanding performance on the CPA Examination.

According to AICPA’s website, “The award is bestowed upon candidates who have obtained a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination, passed all four sections of the Examination on their first attempt and completed testing in 2014.”

The purpose of the Uniform CPA Examination is to protect the public interest and to ensure that only qualified individuals become certified as a CPA.

Corrine Sudbury graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2013 and with a Master’s Degree in Accounting in 2014.

Congratulations to Corrine and thank you for making the DESB proud!
