Technology is taking over. It has created an environment where we can access information at the touch of a finger. Many students use apps to stay on top of their studies and collaborate with other students.

For today’s newsroom article, we have compiled a list of helpful apps every Eccles School student could use on their smartphone.

Top 10 apps every business student should have

  1. Evernote — Keep track of all of your notes for different classes and extracurricular activities.
  2. GroupMe — This will create group chats that you can easily find. You can personally name the group and collaborate on projects together in real-time.
  3. Google Apps/Google Drive — Everyone in the 21st century has a Gmail account. Using Drive to store all of your assignments and collaborate with co-workers and/or classmates on projects is the best way to get things done. Plus you can access your documents anywhere at any time, just by logging in to your Google account.
  4. LinkedIn — This is the best way to network in the business community. You can find companies, people who work at different companies, and network with classmates and professors.
  5. Slack — This app has sure made life a little easier when working on many group projects or working with a team. You can set-up channels for different projects and invite all your team members to join.
  6. Freedom — This app allows you to set an amount of time where your phone blocks all your use of any distracting apps. It’s great for focusing on what’s most important at any given time.
  7. The List App — Have a list of tasks that need to get done by the end of the day? The List App will help you accomplish those tasks by setting up dates, times, and priorities for each individual task.
  8. Mint — A personal money manager. College students all have a problem with spending money they don’t have. This app allows you to see what money you are spending and how you can start smart spending.
  9. Personal bank (e.g., Well Fargo, CHASE, Zions Bank etc.) — Allows know what your personal account balance is, so be sure to download your personal money bank.
  10. Health (usually pre-installed app on iPhone) — Stay healthy and actives while in school. Be sure to track you health and daily activity using the iPhone health app.
