Department of Management

Open NotebookIn the Department of Management, students learn through theory and practice how to effectively organize people, materials, plans, and processes.  A degree in Management gives graduates the advantage they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive business environment.

“No matter what career you choose, it is almost inevitable that you will be involved in two major activities: working with people and working within processes.  Both of these aspects of your job will require that you think critically and make good decisions.  Courses from the Management Department are designed to help prepare you for the tasks that lie ahead, whether you work in manufacturing, services, healthcare, education or not-for-profit.  They are built around five broad topics:  organizational behavior; strategic management and entrepreneurship; operations management and quantitative methods; business law; and business communication.  You can choose to emphasize one of these topics or you can take courses in each to have a broader perspective.”
