The David Eccles School of Business Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in professional endeavors and community service. The achievements and characteristics of each member is a model for students and our community. The Hall of Fame Gallery is featured in the foyer of the Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building where plaques commemorate induction and pay homage to the significant accomplishments of the David Eccles School of Business community.

James SorensonJames Lee Sorenson
Jim Sorenson is a nationally recognized business leader and entrepreneur who helped pioneer new technologies used by today's leading companies. His vision has led to the creation of a business empire that includes a diverse array of highly successful real estate holdings, technology companies and a private equity capital firm.
When he founded Sorenson Media in 2000, Jim laid the foundation for the online video industry, developing technology that helped enable Apple QuickTime, Adobe Flash and Youtube to gain global prominence.
In 2003, Jim created Sorenson Communications, the nation's largest video relay service (VRS) provider. The VRS videophone technology transformed communication between deaf and hearing individuals, vastly improving the professional and personal opportunities for the deaf. In 2005, Jim sold Sorenson Communications to GTCR in what was the largest private equity deal in Utah history.
Jim was Chairman of the Board of MediConnect Global, a leader in medical record retrieval that sold to Verisk Analytics in 2012 for nearly $370 million. Other professional accomplishments include co-founding Sorenson Capital, which has raised more than $650 million to become Utah's leading mid-market private equity firm, and helping rescue Ancestry.com, the world's largest online collection of family history records.
Among his philanthropic ventures, Jim founded the Sorenson Impact Foundation and the James Lee Sorenson Family Foundation. He also serves on the boards of numerous charities and community organizations.
By combining innovative and worthwhile ideas with talented management teams, Jim has produced thousands of new jobs and vibrant companies in the state of Utah.

Barbara ZimonjaBarbara Zimonja, President/CEO of Premier Resorts International
She is known for her vision, expertise and success in the hospitality resort business. After founding her property management business, Park City Resort Lodging, in 1978, her performance attracted scores of other properties throughout the Park City/ Deer Valley area. In 1987, she purchased Deer Valley Lodging, becoming the largest provider of hospitality services in Summit County, Utah's most popular skiing destination. In 1994, her companies became an integral component of the fast growing Premier Resorts collection of properties. Four years later, she was appointed President by the parent company, Rentokil Initial, a five billion-dollar per year, worldwide service company. In 2004, she purchased all of Premier Resorts International and moved the corporate headquarters to Park City, Utah.
Barbara is active in national and regional professional organizations including World Presidents Organization, Rotary International, Chief Executives Organization, and was named Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006. She is a member of the National Advisory Board for the David Eccles School of Business, the Park City Performing Arts Foundation Board and has served on the Utah State Board of Economic Development and several University Hospital Boards. A trauma room at the William H. and Patricia W. Child Emergency Center bears her name.

Stephen CoveyDr. Stephen R. Covey
He received a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the Eccles School of Business. He is the founder of the Covey Leadership Center, which merged with Franklin Quest on May 30, 1997 to form Franklin Covey. He is the author of several acclaimed books, including the international bestseller, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
Dr. Covey is recognized for his many achievements in business as well as his continued support of community, awards he has received include Time magazine's 25 most influential Americans, The Thomas More College Medallion for continuing service to humanity and The National Entrepreneur of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
