Ways to Get Involved

University of Utah Business Alumni Association

The University of Utah Business Alumni Association is directed by approximately 65 dedicated and energetic board members. These important board members help the David Eccles School of Business fundraise and plan events, participate in and plan student programs and keep the David Eccles School and students in tune with alumni in our community. With more than 20,000 business alumni around the world, our network is strong and growing.

If you are alumni who would like to know more about this board or would like to come speak to our board, please contact Katie Amundsen at (801)585-5416.

Student Clubs & Programs

Alumni are invited to become a resource for student clubs by participating in events, becoming a mentor, or offer career advice as a guest lecturer.

  • SMART Start: This mentorship program provides a rewarding opportunity for alumni to be matched up one-on-one with a student based on career and recreational interests.

For the past seven years, students have had the opportunity to be mentored by Utah's top business professionals through the SMART Start Mentor Program. Each year, students are paired with volunteer professionals that help them prepare for the business world. Mentors host students for a company visit, review resumes and offer advice on transitioning from school to the workforce.

The Mentor Program also offers the SMART Start online program, which provides assistance to students from mentors all over the nation. Online mentors respond to emails from students about business questions they might have. The quality of this program continues to grow and we would like to thank the SMART Start committee of the Business Alumni Board for all their efforts in making this program a wonderful success for student and community members alike. In addition, a special thanks to Chase Bank for their continued sponsorship of this program.

Become a mentor for our SMART Start Mentor Program today. Please contact Bryan Eldredge at 801.581.3062 or visit us at: http://www.desb.utah.edu/

  • Week on Wall Street: During this week-long program, individual students visit firms on Wall Street to meet with alums in the workplace giving them the opportunity to explore careers and the finance industry. Contact your advisor for more information.
