Faculty in the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business are thought leaders committed to teaching and research. They edit, review for and publish in top academic journals and receive recognition from their peers. Consequently, they are experts in their fields.
Among the faculty-edited journals are Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Economics, Annals of Finance, Product Innovation Management, Academy of Management Annals, Research in Organizational Behavior, Information Systems Research and Association for Information Systems.
In accounting, for example, the faculty includes the current president of the Financial Accounting Reporting Section of the American Accounting Association (Christine Botosan) and the winner of the Wildman Medal for the greatest contributions to the practice of accounting in the past five years (Robert Allen).
According to the annual survey conducted by the Financial Management Association and Arizona State University, the finance department of the David Eccles School of Business has been ranked as the 20th best university-based research group in the world from 2003 to 2007.
Overall, the school has been ranked No. 22 for faculty research among universities with Executive MBA programs by the Financial Times of London.
