Admission Requirements and Process

Students in the David Eccles School of Business must complete a two step admissions process to graduate with a business degree. The first of the two steps is Intermediate Status, allowing students into restricted classes (Accounting 2010 and 2020 and OIS 2340 and 3440).  Full admission in the school of Business is Admission to Upper-division, upon which students may take upper-division courses.

Students who have completed the following courses and met the grade requirements can be granted intermediate status by the advisor.

Writing 2010 (B or better grade)

Math 1090 or 1050 (B or better grade)

Information Systems 2010 (B- or better grade)

Admission to Upper-Division

Application for upper division should be completed and submitted to the Undergraduate Programs office when a minimum of 47 hours of college or university credit has been completed and the student has completed or is enrolled in the last of 1000-2999 level business classes.

Math 1100, OIS 2340 and Accounting 2010 must be completed before applying. Students who meet the admission criteria may apply one semester prior to the beginning upper-division courses.

Application deadline is the end of the third week of the semester.
