Admission Into Departmental Majors
Acceptance as a departmental major in Accounting, Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, Marketing or Business Administration is restricted by the student capacity in the School of Business and is determined by the Undergraduate Admissions Committee. Students who meet the admission criteria may apply one semester prior to beginning their upper division courses. Application deadline is the end of the third week of the semester. For example, applicants applying during Fall Semester are admitted for Spring Semester. Notification of admission status is mailed to each student; you will be coded into your major in time for registration. If admitted for Fall, you will be able to register by the end of June.
Transfer students must attend the University Orientation to be able to register.
Admission Criteria
IS 2010, Math 1090 or 1100, and Writing 2010 must be completed with a B or better grade before application deadline. All First and Second year business courses must be either completed or the student must be registered for all remaining Second Year courses during the semester that the student's application will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee (if you have one course left in the Second year level we will work with you and still want you to apply for upper division). Applicants are evaluated and ranked by their cumulative grade point average (GPA). The last admissions GPA cut off was a 3.3. Any transfer work is included. If you have any questions, please stop by the Undergraduate Programs office in BUC 104.
Transfer work which may fill School of Business classes must be evaluated by the Undergraduate Programs Office well in advance of the application deadline.
