The Masters in Statistics program at the David Eccles School of Business is a professional inter-department program administered by the University Statistics Committee. The degree is for students whose primary interest lies in statistical methods in specific disciplines.

The Program:

Students complete a minimum of 37.5 credit hours consisting of a required core curriculum, nine hours of business core courses and at least six hours of electives. Students with a bachelor's degree in business replace the nine hours of business core courses with electives. The due date for completed applications to the Graduate School is February 1, and to the School of Business’ Masters Programs Office is March 15 for the following autumn. Priority processing and consideration is given to applicants completed by this deadline.

Requirements:

Minimum requirements for admission: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, one year course in calculus, knowledge of matrix theory, and at least two semester courses in basic statistics. Students in management must declare as full time or half-time students. The maximum allowed for completion of required course work is four consecutive calendar years. All MStat students must pass a comprehensive exam in order to graduate.

One year is required for students who enter the program with the appropriate math prerequisites The Business Track faculty are faculty within the David Eccles School of Business.
