Innovation Workshop
The University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business and the Sorenson Center for Innovation and Discovery are pleased to present the Innovation Workshop for the greater community. Along with University of Utah MBA students, expand your skills and capabilities to create, identify, and develop exceptional opportunities for innovation.
The innovation context will include both new products and services, and innovation opportunities internal to your organization. Using a project format, you will collaborate with your peers in sessions filled with interactive activities. To allow for intensive class activities, you will meet in three hour sessions on successive Thursday and Friday afternoons from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. For a fulfilling experience, you can expect to spend significant time outside of class on reading, assignments, and project work. Your projects will focus on opportunities for new ventures, but the concepts, tools, and methods will apply to innovation of all types, whether in an entrepreneurial setting or in an existing organization.
Dr. Karl T. Ulrich will facilitate this workshop. Karl is the Vice Dean of Innovation and the CIBC Professor of Entrepreneurship and e-Commerce at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds an appointment as Professor of Mechanical Engineering. His research is focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and product development.
